Tokyo Godfathers is a great movie that makes you feel as happy and warm as the Christmas/New Year season should,
the Yes/No pillow is an amazing idea, and popular enough in Japan that it was considered an issue of surprise when I said I'd never heard of it,
the next season of Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei just began. If I haven't told you about it yet, it's the funniest and most intelligent comedy in Japan right now, though no Japanese person I know believes me enough to give it a try.
And Chrono Trigger is a good old game. Not as amazing as I heard it was, but it's still pretty good.

I hate the hype that surrounds good art and media - it ruins your experience if you haven't seen/read/played it (see Catcher in the Rye).
Chrono Trigger is still my all-time favorite ... I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK.
