Starbucks's logo and the secret knowledge of yore.

So this is a cool essay. It starts by pointing out that the Starbucks logo is a mermaid, and that it used to be a nude mermaid with two tails, and then it goes on to describe the history of such an image in the Christian and pre-Christian West, and the ideas the image entails in pagan, Christian, and modern history. Then it dissects the name of Starbucks itself and, if you're a fictional-minded bloke like meself, freaky things start to happen in your head. Check it out.
